Stronger Together Forum II

Stronger Together Forum II was the second Building Financial Capability sector-wide training development event run led by the Stronger Together Team, including CBNZ’s Sarah Malin.

Over 300 financial mentors attended this special event which was held in August, 2025. Hadyn Jones and Garth Bray, former Fair Go presenters, were amazing MCs, with guest speakers including Lance Burdett, former police negotiator, and neuroscience expert, William Moore’s, Chief Executive – Canadian Association for Financial Empowerment, Tim Mehrten from My Everyday Wellbeing and Dr Alexander Stevens II, Senior Māori Academic at AUT University Founder StandingTallNZ.org.

The event also included an inaugural awards ceremony, with Henderson Budget Service winning the award for financial mentoring service of the year, joint winners for financial mentor of the year Jos Merwood and Cherie Ross=Broadbent, with the Rising Star Award presented to Annie McKegg. 6 Long Service Awards were also given, with service ranging from 20 to 30 years in the sector.
