CBNZ is an incorporated society, and our Executive is made up of representatives from budgeting services around Aotearoa. Current members are:
- Alyson de Marco
Chair
Alyson is the manager of Tamaki Budgeting. She is a champion of ‘MoneyMates’ programmes and is at the cutting edge of these sessions. She has upskilled Financial Mentors across New Zealand so that they can deliver these important programmes to help empower their clients. - Julie Williams
Vice Chair
Julie is Operations Manager for Money Compass, a BFC social enterprise which is part of parent organisation Kingdom Resources. She brings with her over 20 years’ experience as a Financial Mentor and trainer. She co-wrote and delivers the Strengths-based Programme in conjunction with Fincap, and is a recognised Fincap Trainer. - Joan Thomas
Treasurer
Joan has been in the BFC sector for over 15 years, working originally with Christian Assist Trust in Auckland and is also a registered facilitator with Te Ara Ahunga Ora -Retirement Commission. She is a co-writer of CBNZ’s Youth Budgeting Programme which she facilitates on our behalf in the Waitakere and Manukau regions. - Jo Wolferstan
Secretary
VisionWest Financial Mentor and Kahukura. She has considerable experience as a Financial Mentor, and is totally committed to empowering people in her community. - Darlene Coomer
Darlene is a Financial Mentor and 2IC for Salvation Army in Invercargill, having many previous years’ service at Jubilee Budgeting Advisory Service. She is also a skilled trainer/faciliator and brings a wealth of experience and insight to the Board.CBNZ gives grateful thanks to former Executive Member Brian McGettigan, who retired from the Board in November 2025. A founder member of CBNZ and manager/board member of Agape Budgeting Service, he will leave a hole – we will miss his deep wisdom, intellect and friendship.
